National Occupational Classification
It consists of managerial jobs also known as (skill type o), Professional jobs (skill level A), and Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B).
You are to ensure that you have working experience on the National Occupation Classification jobs listed above as it is part of the screenings on your application.
You are required to be experienced in the following skills:
- You must have worked for at least 10 years on the skill
- You must have been paid wages or earn incomes on the job
- You must have worked continuously for a year.
Part-time work experience
Volunteer works and unpaid internships can’t be added as part of an experienced job. Part-time jobs and full-time jobs are the requirements for the federal skilled workers’ program.
Student work experience
This can be considered a work experience as long as you earned income when working as a student.
A language ability test is done to test your ability to speak, write, communicate and read in either French or English language.
You are to have at least a high school diploma to be eligible for the federal skilled workers’ program.
Proof of fund
You need to show the immigration officials that you are not going to be a liability to the government of Canada. The proof that you are capable of taking care of yourself is to be shown.
